![]() Lewis in the FutureSome image analysis routines are too intensive for real-time processing, but post-processing will give Lewis another chance to evaluate the photos. After the robot snaps a photo, it can run a more powerful face detection algorithm to remove any false positives. Eye detection will allow Lewis to determine the subjects. gaze direction, which influences how the viewer.s eyes travel across an image. This information can be used to build a map of people location and orientation. Too much background activity often detracts from the subject. Lewis will measure the noisiness of the background and make further decisions to evaluate the overall readability of the subject within the image. The robot can perform all these checks after the photo has been taken and then decide whether or not the photo is worth keeping. Another important aspect of photography is lighting. Future development will give Lewis control of the lights in a given space. Once Lewis finds a good composition the lights will automatically respond to remove any detected glares or shadows. |
