Burchan Bayazit

Office: Lopata 512

His research is in the areas of motion planning, graphics and human-machine interactions. His main interest is in the application of motion planning to a broad range of practical settings in CAD, computational biology, and animation.

Cindy Grimm

Office: Lopata 515

I teach the beginning and advanced graphics class. My research interests are in the area of surface modeling and art-based rendering. I'm interested in how to describe and compare complex, organic shapes such as bones. Art-based rendering refers to the use of artistic decision making to create renderings that are both more aesthetically appealing and easier to comprehend.

Tao Ju

Office: Lopata 517

My research interests lie in the field of computer graphics and its applications in bio-medical research. I am particularly interested in mesh processing, visualization, animation, geometric modeling, medical imaging and modeling.

Robert Pless

Office: Lopata 518

My research focusses on video analysis, in the areas of omnidirectional vision, and video surveillance. My current focus is on probabilistic models of 3D shape, 2D video variation, and sensor fusion.

Bill Smart

Office: Lopata 516

I am an assistant professor, with research interests in the areas of mobile robotics and machine learning. In particular, I am interested in reinforcement learning for control of real, physical systems, and in issues pertaining to long-term robot autonomy.
